MAINE TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL - EAST

CLASS OF 1956

Reflections of the Class Reunion

The bus tour to downtown Chicago and then the opportunity to take a skyline boat tour was great, as was the camaraderie on the bus each way!  You gave us so many opportunities to congregate from the pizza party to the Sunday morning breakfast. - Arlene Knemoller Campbell

Great seeing “everyone” at the reunion.  Had just a super time. - Sandy Friedlander Smith

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of the work you put into pulling off a well organized weekend—was lots of fun.  Hope I am still alive for the next one. - Bonnie Fiedler

May I offer my most sincere appreciate for your work in bringing our 50th reunion to fruition.  Having get-together events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning was a brilliant stoke—everyone wanted to talk some more.  For someone like me who dropped off the screen, it was a great treat. - Frank Conlon

The committee did a great job.  Good time was had by all.  Fantastic turn-out.  In the important things that matter—it was a great reunion—one of the best! - Jim Sullivan

I truly enjoyed being there, and I guess one of the important benefits to me, in addition to reconnecting with people from my past, was to understand anew who I was then and who I am now.  Certainly we have all changed in many ways, but it was good to discover some enduring threads in this life long journey.  - Tom Walker

Thank you many times over for planning a great reunion!  Including free time was wonderful, as well as the trips planned.  We had time to drive by the house I lived in and it is still there, although many close around have been torn down to build “bigger and better.” - Faith Huston Pennington

In talking later, we were thinking that the people there seemed much mellower than years past.  No posturing, we were all just so glad to have gotten to this point in time and happy to be able to attend.  It was wonderful.  How nice that we had so many first timers. - Barb Rosbe Felisky

I was so glad I went to the 50th.  I had a lot of fun and it was wonderful seeing everyone again and catching up!  Des Plaines is very different than when I grew up!  The Maine tour was OUTSTANDING!  Thanks so much for making the reunion so fabulous! - Sue Lewis Kitchen

You and your committee did a wonderful job!  Please accept our heart-felt appreciation.  It is very difficult to describe how much seeing and greeting old friends actually meant to me--I might even say life changing.
- Bruce Johnson

A note of thanks to tell you what a wonderful job you did to make our class reunion so successful.  What a fun time!  It was such fun seeing everyone again.  The class looks pretty darn good for being such “old poops.”  Hats off to you all! - Loretta Johnson Nelson

Thanks for being such good classmates and friends.  And, as Gordie Burgett says it in the book he wrote, “May we all have a second great life,” and many more reunions. - Jan Rasmussen Hilgers

Many thanks for a wonderful 50th reunion!  The renewal of old friendships brought back so many precious memories and I will cherish them.  - Donna Wirth Carlsson
